We spent the last several months working with HP Tuners to figure out E01 tuning. As it turns out, a new torque model concept is used in this controller, which is very complex, and at this time there is no means to properly generate new model data for it. However, we were eventually able to find a solution around this obstacle. This was the most challenging tune we have ever done. Dozens of new VCM Editor tables needed to be defined, and many new VCM Scanner PIDs were added as well.
All the extra time and effort proved to be worthwhile. We picked up more than 40 whp and 50 wtq throughout most of the powerband. Then we had Brian from Brut4l Ass Kicking calculate the optimal shift points so we could program the TCM accordingly. 0 to 60 times have now improved from 4.8 to 3.8 seconds, making this car launch as hard as a CT4-V Blackwing! These numbers were all on 91-octane fuel with no mods. There should be even more gains with 93-octane. So, whether you’re looking to Remote Tune your CT4-V with HP Tuners or bring it straight to our shop, we’ve got you covered!
