Gautam made the drive to the Tapout Tuning Headquarters from northern Ohio so we could install our immensely popular Purple Belt Performance Package. His ATS-V was sporting an M6 transmission which we love to see and man did his car look good with the wheels and ground effects he was running!
After we completed the installation we got his ATS-V set up on our dyno so we could provide a refined tune to maximize the newly available power from our top quality parts. We made several pulls to ensure that Gautam’s ATS-V was running safely and ramped things up so it produced peak power of 610 whp and 614 wtq on E57 fuel!

For those of you with an A8 ATS-V that have been looking for your dream torque converter, look no further. We spent the last year working with Circle D to develop a Pro Series 245 mm. torque converter specifically designed for the ATS-V!
Some converter companies can take the easy way out and change impeller angles dramatically. This loosens up the converter and reduces overall efficiency across the entire powerband. Circle D, however, developed a CFD-designed billet stator to manipulate the stall speed and coupling points. This design includes a billet front cover, triple lockup clutch, billet apply piston, heat treated steel splines, and furnace brazed/hand tig welded fins!
You can expect flash stall speeds to be about 4,000 rpm. Full streetability and lockup features are retained so this is the perfect torque converter upgrade for the street and track use! After all, if you’re going to improve your performance at the track, you should improve your performance on the drive there too.

These are brand new factory units that are ported and polished by Gigs performance and are a great option as opposed to an intake. That’s because the Gigs Throttle Body costs about half as much, produces excellent power gains per dollar spent (see dyno chart), and no additional tuning is required!
Our dyno testing has shown increases of 10 to 15 whp across most of the powerband from 4,900 to 6,400 rpm with no tuning. We would expect to see even more on higher boost/horsepower applications as well. It’s a plug and play easy installation that can be completed with basic tools in about an hour or less. Joe lives a few miles from our shop and just purchased his ATS-V from someone in Texas. When he bought the car it had already been tuned by someone else, so we did a baseline Dyno pull on the existing pump gas tune to see where he was starting at. His ATS-V made respectable peak power of 498 whp and 490 wtq on 93-octane fuel.
With no changes other than our custom tuning, we improved his numbers to 518 whp and 555 wtq. That’s 20 more whp and 65 more wtq than the previous tuner could provide! We then completed several fuel system upgrades to bring him up to our Purple Belt Performance Package. After adding some ethanol to the tank we created our Flex Fuel Tune for an E50 fuel mix. Final results were 604 whp and 628 whp with a much improved powerband! That just goes to show that ATS-Vs love ethanol, and they really love proper tuning.
