Way back in 2008, Bob Cook built and drive the first GM Series II/III FWD to ever hit an eight second quarter mile, running 8.95 @ 157 mph in his ’99 Grand Prix GT. 15 years later at the 2023 Cadillac Attack, Bob was behind the wheel when his 2016 ATS-V became the first to crack eights. After three days of racing, we was able to lay down an 8.97, 8.86 and then 8.77 seconds on his final pass.
Modifications include the Tapout Tuning Brown Belt Performance Package, with the turbos switched out for aftermarket units. The engine, cylinder heads and intercooler are still stock except for forged pistons and stronger fasteners. Basically this car is running the initial beta test of our future Black Belt Performance Package. It will take a while to figure out how to neatly package and produce this kit at an affordable price. Stay tuned, since all details and pricing will be announced later this year.
